CatchON TV on Kodi

Kodi is a free, open-source media centre for Windows, Mac, Linux and Android. With its built-in PVR IPTV Simple Client, it turns CatchON TV into a full TV experience with a guide and favourites. It takes about 6 minutes and suits people who like to fine-tune things.

Before You Start

Install Kodi from the official Kodi website or your device’s app store. You also need two links from your CatchON TV welcome email: the M3U playlist link for channels and the EPG (XMLTV) link for the guide.

Step 1: Install PVR IPTV Simple Client

  1. Open Add-onsFrom the Kodi home screen, choose Add-ons, then the open-box icon at the top left.
  2. Install from repositorySelect Install from repository, then PVR clients.
  3. Choose PVR IPTV Simple ClientSelect it and press Install. It is an official Kodi add-on, so no third-party sources are needed.

Step 2: Add Your CatchON TV Playlist

  1. Open the add-on settingsGo to My add-ons, PVR clients, PVR IPTV Simple Client and choose Configure.
  2. Set the M3U locationUnder General, set Location to Remote path (Internet address) and paste your M3U link into M3U playlist URL.
  3. Add the guideUnder EPG, set Location to Remote path and paste your EPG link into XMLTV URL.
  4. Save and restart KodiPress OK, then close and reopen Kodi so it loads the channels.

Tip: the first load of a large playlist can take a minute or two. A small counter in the top-right corner shows Kodi importing channels.

Step 3: Watch Live TV

From the home screen, choose TV. Browse channels by group or open the Guide for a grid view. Right-click (or long-press) a channel to add it to favourites.

Kodi Tips

  • Speed up start-up: in the add-on settings, enable Cache M3U at local storage.
  • Movies and series: Kodi’s IPTV client is built for live TV. For the full on-demand library, use IPTV Smarters Pro on the same device.
  • Avoid unknown add-ons: only use official add-ons with CatchON TV. Third-party builds can slow Kodi down or cause errors.

Kodi Troubleshooting

No channels after restart

Check that the M3U link was pasted in full, then go to Settings, PVR & Live TV, General and choose Clear data. Restart Kodi.

The guide is empty

Confirm the XMLTV link is in the EPG section and give Kodi a few minutes to import it. More fixes are in our troubleshooting guide.
